According to a defense official, the US military later airlifted the former House speaker from Luxembourg to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. This medical center is a major military hospital, which has been treating American soldiers injured in war for years. Pelosi, 84, is receiving excellent treatment from doctors, according to her spokesperson Ian Krager
“While traveling with a bipartisan congressional delegation to Luxembourg to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi suffered an injury during an official event and was hospitalized for evaluation,” Krager said.
Pelosi regrets missing the remaining CODEL events honoring the bravery of our troops, krager said, but she continues to work and looks forward to returning to the United States shortly.”
“Pelosi’s injury happened just a few days after Mitch McConnell, the Senate GOP leader, tripped and fell at the Capitol, hurting his wrist and face.”
A spokesperson for the 82-year-old Kentucky Republican said in a statement on Tuesday that McConnell suffered “minor facial injuries” and has been “cleared to resume his schedule.”
